Mom, Dad, Steve and I stopped in New York for a couple of days on our way home from Florida.

We were supposed to check into our rented apartment at 3pm on Sunday but because we had to drive slower than normal on the spare tire, we didn’t get to New York until 4am Monday morning. We actually didn’t stay in New York City, we found a great apartment across the Hudson River in West New York, New Jersey.

There was a bus stop right across the street that left every 5 minutes and went right to Time Square. We had a great view of the New York skyline from the living room.

On Monday afternoon, while Dad was getting the tire fixed, Steve and I went in to the city.

We got off the bus at Time Square and decided to walk 40 blocks to the Museum of Natural History. We happened to find the LDS Temple on the way!

We got to the museum just before it closed, so we didn’t get to look around. We were pretty tired from walking 40+ blocks, so we took the subway back to Time Square. We ate at Liberty Diner and then played at Dave and Buster’s for a while. Playing at arcades is kind of a tradition when we travel. We’ve been to arcades in Australia, Niagara Falls, New York, Florida, Alberta and Nova Scotia so far :)

The next day we went to the Olive Garden for lunch and had a great view of Time Square and the M&M store!

After lunch we went to Rockefeller Centre

We shopped at the Metropolitan Museum of Art store, the Lego store, and the NBA store. The Lego store was impressive! They had Lego versions of the statues that are just outside.

We shopped in the basement of 30 Rock and went to the NBC experience store.

One our way back down town, we stopped at the Cake Boss’ bakery

You can’t see all these delicious treats and not get some!

The fact that NYC is only 14 hours away means that Steve and I will be going back again in the not too distant future!
